What do I do?
I work as a freelance photographer, but you can also book me as a lecturer. Most of the images you see on my portfolio are also available for purchase as prints. My work as been featured in some magazines, I have published a couple photobooks and have got work featured in some media (press, internet and television shows). I am an independent hands-on and enthusiastic professional, flexible to work at any time on any location. Please feel free to contact me for any enquiries you may have.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Portraiture of you, your children, your maternity, your love, your dog, your birthday party, your special event, your life, your trip… My work relies on bespoke photography, so it will always be about YOU. Wether you want to have a model book or a travel book, it is up to you. You’ll ask for it, and I will happily do it. I’m flexible to travel, will work for YOU anytime, anywhere!
EDUCATION
I have experience in both “hands-on” teaching (such as photography workshops) and lectures / guest speaking for larger audiences about photography as art, from young children to the professional adults. I have taught in pinhole workshops, digital post-production techniques, curating galleries, the importance of photography on a social / political perspective, SLR / D-SLR techniques, music events and live shows photography, studio lighting techniques, and others alike. I am available for teaching on an hourly basis, or on a weekly basis for longer teaching courses.
PRINTING
Most of the images you’ll find here are available for purchase as prints. Besides the images here, I am happy to work on anything upon request – totally unique, made for you, and you only. You can create your own bespoke prints for interior design, such as wallpaper, fridge magnets printed, decoration for your business, catalogues or even stationary items. If you have an idea, just send me an email using the contact sheet on the bottom, and I will reply to you as soon as possible with a quote and any other relevant adicional information.
About me
Hello, my name is TÂNIA NEVES, and I am the photographer you have been looking for!
I have been working as a freelance photographer since 2008. I graduated in Photography at the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of the West of England, in 2010, and took part in a post-graduate degree in Popular Culture and the City at the Graduate School of Social Sciences, Universiteit van Amsterdam, the previous year.
I like to focus my photography work on my 3 favourite subjects: music, travelling and people. I do not consider my style to be convencional or ordinary, and it may be difficult for some to embrace it. Most of all I try to capture other senses to my photographs, apart from the visual aesthetics.
My work has been featured in several magazines, I have 3 published photo-books and I have also been a guest on some TV shows to talk about the art of Photography. Mostly I like to share my passion about photography, rather than just talking about it has a technique. I truly believe photography has a social impact above all.
I have written about erotic art in photography, the social impact of photography and the relationship between the photographer and the photographed people.
I follow no rules. I allow my practice to be a reflection of my nomad lifestyle.
